Bronson Roberts '11 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'9, 180 lb. tennis player. One wouldn't believe that I was a tennis player at first glance, but I have worked hard to get to where I am now. I have loved the art of the sport since I was a child, but I picked up my first racket when I was a sophomore in high school. Without hard work and determination, I would not be competing at the level that I do now. After getting Most Improved my first year of playing tennis, I knew that my hard work was paying off. Because I was a football running back my freshman year, I knew I had the speed and reflexes needed to succeed in the sport of tennis. My second year playing tennis, I received 2nd team all district and my team was number two in the district. I have participated in many USTA tournaments, and currently I am ranked number 82 in the state of Tennessee and 915 out of over 1800 in the USTA southern region. As I play more USTA tournaments, I believe my rankings will greatly improve overall in both categories of USTA. I definitely want to make an impact on the team that I am right for, and play as hard as I possibly can to help the team be the best that it can be. I would love to stay in Tennessee, but if it is meant to be, I will go out of state. My preferred major is Psychology and I would like to do something in that field. I would prefer a large school, but I am definitely open to any school that is interested in me. I can offer true committment to your tennis team and college if I am selected. During tournaments and school matches people will tell me that I am a good tennis player with a strong serve and many times parents that I don't know will say that they love to watch me play and will stay to watch my match, which makes me proud to be playing a sport that I really love.
