Hunter Horton '16 Recruiting Profile

I started playing tennis six years ago. It was a challenge starting out so late in this sport. Most of the great junior players in South Carolina started when they were much younger. At first I wondered if I could ever catch up with these players. There were times that I doubted. I not only have caught up, but I have passed most of them. I am getting wins from some of the top ranked players from the Southern Section. I work hard both on and off the court and I believe my hard work in the classroom and on the court is paying off now. I believe coaches recruit two kinds of prospects; those that are great players that they have to maintain, and those that have not peaked yet. I believe I fit the latter mold. I am working hard to get to the highest level that I can achieve. I have goals of improving my rank and playing college tennis but my ultimate goal is to coach college tennis one day.
