Athletic Goal: Earn a position on a men's tennis team and contribute to the team's success by being a team player with a strong work ethic.
Academic Goal: Earn a degree in an area of Sports Medicine or Economics.
Volunteer: I help with wheelchair tennis at our club, of which 2 are professional wheelchair players. I have volunteered as a ball boy for the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, CA for 3 years. I am going on a missions trip during spring break 2016 to Guatemala. I have gone on other missions trips to Eastern Oregon for 4 years. I am a leader at our annual vacation bible school at our church. I also help with community service projects such as yard cleanup, maintenance, and firewood for the elderly.
Employment: I work part time at Salem Tennis and Swim Club. Depending on my tournament schedule, I work between 10-15 hours each week. My duties include opening and closing the club, front desk responsibilities, court cleaning, and racket stringing.
I do off court conditioning and strength training with my dad and brother 3 times a week.
I am not part of an academy, so I work hard to incorporate a variety of tennis experiences each week. Salem does not offer high performance training, so I travel to Eugene 1-2 times per week, and hit with my local pros and have practice matches with various adults and college players.
