Ryan McFarland '12 Recruiting Profile

I am a Junior this year and have been the #1 singles player at my high school since I was a freshman. Last year I won the MIAA Division B #1 singles title. I went All County, and was named team MVP. I am committed to my physical fitness and work out regularly at Club 1 Fitness. I play basketball, lift weights, box and fight in Jui-Jitsu. I am currently the president of my schools F.C.A. (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) where we have a large following to play various sports. I work at Chartwell Country Club in the tennis shop and am frequently asked to fill in when members are unable to play. I am interested in playing tennis in college as I am very passionate about learning more about how to be a better tennis player, training and competing at the college level. This year I will be the captain on our team and look forward in helping my teammates compete and become better players. I am open to all opportunities that meet my academic and athletic interests. The size of the school and location is secondary to meeting my needs. Tennis is a big part of my life and I love to practice, compete and challenge myself; but I know that I need to be academically prepared to support myself after tennis/college.
