Personal Statement
I started to play tennis from the age of 9 and have been playing till date. Being a left-handed player I always believed that I had a natural gift of a good serve. Having a good serve has always helped me have a competitive edge over my opponents as I am always able to dictate play first. Along with a good serve I also believe I have a strong forehead which helps me be aggressive and always keeping the opponent under pressure.
Furthermore, I was trained by professional sports coaches who holds best repute in Mumbai and in many parts of India. With one year of practice, I started playing competitive tournaments at the age of 10 years. Throughout the year, I played tennis, got training and ensured that my physical fitness was at its peak to avoid any injuries that would hamper my tennis routine. I ranked 4th at All India Tennis Association (AITA) in the Under 12 division for the year of 2010. Due to my ranking, I was selected for the India Tennis Trails organized by Nick Bollettieri in collaboration with Indian Tennis Association. Furthermore, I also received a chance to go to Thailand for junior training camping organized by Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Associate (MSLTA) in the year of 2010.
As I continued with tennis along with education, it got tougher to balance as India still views sports as not a promising career and hence results in getting full support from schools in India is difficult. Nonetheless, I continued to play competitive Tennis and won some tournaments in the Under 14 and Under 18 division. I played as a team for doubles and did win tournaments in partnership.
In one of the Asian Series, named as PCLTA MSLTA Cup Asian, I was ranked 8th under 14 division.
I believe with all these achievements, I still have a lot to achieve and with proper guidance I would definitely like to make my tennis career. From my end, I am willing to put my hard work and dedication in order to pursue tennis professionally.
