Personal Statement
I am Senior in high school (Montevideo, Uruguay), science engineering orientation. I will be graduating on December 2014 and will apply for university on fall 2015. I am interested in engineering, computers, business and finance, but I haven’t decided yet.
I am 18 years old, 5´11´´ 140 pounds. I have been playing tennis since the age of 9 and I started to compete when I was 10. This season (March 2014- July 2014) I played four tournaments in the Uruguay Tennis Association, three times QF, and last tournament SF. In April 2014 I got the first place in singles and second in doubles in the club tournament. I was ranked 13 in 2009, 8 in 2010 and 5 in 2012. At the moment I am ranked 7th in Uruguay 18/1st category (including the under 18 category and the ATP players). During these years of intensive training and competition, I learned to deal with pressure, tiredness, and also to always give my best.
I look forward to play tennis for a university. I like the idea that an individual sport become a team work, when all players train, support and compete for a mutual goal. I am a good teammate, sociable and always get on well with the rest of the players. I am the kind of person that always supports the team while playing and training and want my teammates to be successful as I want it for myself. I have played for three different clubs and got involved with the team I was playing for, and that is what I am looking for in the tennis college.
