My name is Daniel Budd. I am from West Vancouver, B.C, Canada. I have been playing tennis for seven years and have trained with the Hollyburn National Performance Group in West Vancouver for the past four years with a number of coaches including Neil Scantlebury. I also train privately with Kris Santoso. For the past three years I have played with the Sentinel Secondary Tennis Team which has won the Provincial Championship for all three years both in singles and in doubles.
My coaches feel I am a great asset to our tennis group/team: I’m always at practice, I work my hardest, and I take the play and training seriously. They say I’m an excellent example to members of the team because of my dedication. I'm 5'8" and though slight, I am strong, very athletic, quite fast, and have good endurance. I enjoy both singles and doubles, and I perform particularly well in doubles during tournament play.
I love to play tennis and I have planned to play in university since I first began to train with my private coach Kris Santoso who inspired me with his own playing at Berkeley. Even though I would love to play tennis at university I also want an excellent academic education and would like to enter an engineering, chemistry or architecture program. The school can be small or large as long as the tennis team is motivated and works together.
I want to be part of an enthusiastic and dedicated competitive team and believe that with hard work and the right environment I can both inspire and be inspired to achieve success with my team.
