Matthew Herron '11 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Matthew Herron, and I was born in North Vancouver British Columbia and currently live in West Vancouver British Columbia. I am currently in my grade 12 year attending Collingwood School in West Vancouver. I am a hard worker, a leader both on and off the court and in general, a nice person. I am interested in playing college sports in the United States. It has been a dream of mine since I can't even remember to play college sports in the United States, and I am dedicated to make that happen in any way possible. I have no preference on location but I am interested in a school that has a high level tennis program and a school that has a good education. I am interested in a program and/or a coaching staff that allows me to play at a high level and a program that is dedicated to winning. I am 6�??2 and 155 lbs, and my greatest strength as a tennis player is my athleticism and speed. I am able to use my athleticism on my serve and I use my speed for my ground strokes and volleys. I have been playing tennis since the age of 5 and some of my biggest accomplishments as a tennis player are being a 3x AA High School Provincial Champion and 3x High School Provincial MVP (2 Singles, 1 Doubles). During my grade 10 year, I was able to obtain a 2nd rank in u16 in British Columbia and I am currently 8th ranked for U18 in British Columbia. I am not 100% sure what my major will be in college but I am interested in taking Business Administration. My goals for my freshman year in college would be to have the opportunity to play and impact the team in any way possible. I know Division I isn�??t always the best route to have the opportunity to play and impact a team but I would like to have an opportunity to both play at a high level, and play during my freshman year, but I am flexible with my preferences and options.
