One of the most important accomplishments in my life has been attaining the Boy Scouts of America rank of Eagle Scout. The journey to Eagle taught me about life and how to succeed through perseverance. That same dedication and determination is what I bring to the pool. However, not all of my leadership and training has come from scouting. Swimming has also taught me a great deal about myself. Like scouting, swimming takes constant perseverance and commitment. However swimming is different in the sense that what is expected of you is much different. Swimming demands that a performer constantly strives to better himself in order to stay successful. Unlike scouting where there is a set list of things to do to advance to the next challenge, in swimming you only have the goals you set for yourself. Swimming is all about the drive to make yourself better and that is a large part of why I have swum competitively since I was 5 and look forward to continuing in college.
