I have always demonstrated a strong work ethic, high level of practice attendance, and consistent dedication to my academics. While maintaining a 3.61 (out of 4.0) Core GPA during the school year, I practice in the mornings with my high school team and then I drive 1 hour each way to my USA club swim practice every evening to swim with the best coach and team in the region. I swim 10000-12000 yards per day. From season to season, I have always demonstrated consistent improvement in my events. This hard work regularly pays off. Over my freshman and sophomore years, I was the fastest 4A freshman and sophomore in the State of Texas and 1st Team All-State in the 100 Back (6th place) last season. This season, I won District 24-5A gold in the 100 Back, 200 Free, 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay, and 200 Medley Relay. I won Region 6-5A Silver in 100 Back and Gold in the 200 Free, 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay, and 200 Medley Relay. I qualified for the Texas UIL State Championship in the 200 Free, 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay, and 200 Medley Relay. I qualified Texas 2nd Team All-State in the 200 Free Relay and Honorable Mention in the 100 Back and 400 Free Relay. For the 3rd year in a row, I was name the Clear Falls High School MVP. On the USA Swimming side, I qualified for NCSA Junior Nationals in the 100 and 200 Back both this season and last season. At NCSA Junior Nationals this season, I reached my goal of qualifying for USA Swimming Winter Junior Nationals in the 100 Back with a 50.78! I also dropped 3 seconds and qualified for Winter Junior Nationals bonus in the 200 Back, dropped 5 seconds in the 200 IM and got the NCSA Junior Nationals Bonus and Sectionals cuts, and swam my fastest medley relay backstroke split (24.57).
