David Ingraham '11 Recruiting Profile

I have been swimming year round since I was 9 years old. I'm now 18 and the passion and drive that I have for the sport and my team has only grown over the years. My work ethic day in and day out has allowed me to become a Y-National individual and relay champion, a top three finisher at Junior Nationals, and over 50 individual state titles in multiple events. My success has inspired me to work harder, and I know the responsibility that comes along with success. I am a natural leader in all aspects of my life whether it be school, sports, or other extra-curricular activities. I perform my best under pressure, and I also push my teammates to the next level both vocally and by setting the example. The colleges that I am looking into are all over the country, but the majority of them are in the south. However, I am always willing to step out of my comfort zone to try new things and that usually pays off. That being said, I believe that a big school would suit me best because I enjoy meeting new people and again am willing to step out of my comfort zone to meet them. I haven't yet narrowed down my major all the way but I know that I want to study either business management, law, or history. This will obviously have a major impact on where I choose to attend college. Once I choose the college that I want to go to, I hope to make an immediate impact. I think that hard work will help me accomplish my goals with a major one being making NCAAs by my sophomore year. I also hope to help whatever team I am on win a national championship. I have been a part of winning Y-National and state championships, and I never like to settle for second.
