Winning the BENELUX Divisional Championship, in Lakenheath, England, as a sophomore so far has been the highlight of my high school career, and I am looking to so many more memories and accomplishments. As team captain, I learned that providing mentorship, consistently demonstrating leadership qualities, and maintaining a dedicated and positive attitude towards my fellow team members allowed me to grow the most as a student athlete during my sophomore year. Furthermore, as a military dependent I have grown as a young adult, swimmer, and student due to numerous military moves expanding from Asia, the United States, and Europe. These experiences have allowed me to overcome many challenges, while providing me with the motivation and dedication in school and the sport of swimming, as I move on to the college level.
I have been fortunate enough to be part of two amazing programs, SHAPE Seals European Forces Swim League(EFSL) and Nation's Capitol Swim Club(NCAP). Over the last three years of swimming, each team as provided me with unique experiences of competing in Europe and in the United States. Most importantly, my teammates and coaches have taught me the importance of dedication, teamwork, leadership, and friendship. Furthermore, I learned the value and importance of succeeding academically. My goal is to find a college program that will academically and athletically assist me in continue my long term goals. I believe that I have the qualities and dedication to compete at the college level, but at the same time can provide teamwork and leadership that will contribute positively to the overall program. As a two sport Varsity athlete, swimming is the sport I choose to dedicate my time and is my passion.
Ultimately, my goal is to first and foremost, obtain my undergraduate degree, but also continue my love for the sport of swimming and later become an officer in the armed forces. I am a great candidate for a college team because I am a great supporter and I am highly selfless. What makes me different is that I am very enthusiastic and view the sport of swimming differently than others, I am a team player and care about the other swimmers around me.
