Carl Labonge IV '11 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6'4" plus, 200 lbs sprint to middle distance swimmer that has really only been training 4 years. Over the last year or so I really began to show my potential as a college athlete with significant time drops in almost everything event I swam. My US swimming coach continues to call me diamond in the rough given my young age, size and still emerging speed in the water. I will continue to train extremely hard, improve and be an excellent college swimmer for the right team, which has been my dream for the last 4 years. I am a proven leader that chooses to lead others by example. I was the captain of my high school swim team and last fall finished up and earned my Boy Scout Eagle Award. Ideally, I would like to be at a larger size school with a great "college town" atmosphere or great urban environment. I am not limiting my school choices geographically, although some where on the east coast would be ideal. I am looking for a college with high academic standards, where I can earn my degree in the political science and international relations. Ideally, I would like to join a team where I can have an immediate scoring impact on the team, continue to improve and ultimately swim in the NCAA Championship.
