My name is Sam Couch, I am a senior at Hamilton High School in Hamilton, MT. I have been swimming competitively since I was 8 years old. I began competitive swimming for a Montana Federation swim team in Hamilton which only swam and competed 2 months out of the year. That was not enough for me. I moved to a year-round swim team, Missoula Aquatic Club (MAC) in the fall of 2011. My first year on that team I qualified for the Northwestern Age Group championships and the Western ZONES meet. During my second year my relay team qualified for the Speedo Western Division LC Senior Sectionals in Gresham, OR. The commute to Missoula takes an hour to get to the pool and an hour to get home. I am able to travel to Missoula 3-4 days a week, depending on my school schedule. The days I can not make it to Missoula, I practice on my own at a local pool, with the practices that my coach sends me. It is my goal to make the Olympic Trials in the 400 Individual Medley. My professional goal is to become a physical therapist for a professional sports team or the Olympic team.
