I started swimming for my local Y team at 8 years old. After a few years, I went to a YMCA/ USA team near home and started swimming year round. In June of 2015 I joined Columbia Swim Club, a competitive USA swim team, and while is is almost an hour drive to practice one way, I feel I am getting stronger and faster and learning a lot! Although I can only get in the pool 6x per week because of logistics, I am excited to be with this team. At meets you will see me rooting for my teammates and congratulating my competition when we have a great race against each other. My coaches will tell you that I am competitive, even at practice! And what gets me amped??? Relays!
I am hoping for a collegiate career at a medium sized school, maybe even military. I am working on reaching a Sectionals time in backstroke soon, and continue to drop time in my freestyle events. I have great form when I butterfly and have been told "incredibly long arms" so I have been working on that stroke and trying to drop time as I get stronger. I am a young senior in high school, I will still be 17 when I graduate highschool, so will only get bigger and faster as I mature. I know I have not peaked yet!
I excel at school and have a 3.25 GPA currently. I have been taking several AP college courses, even though my practice schedule makes it difficult sometimes with all the travel. Thanks for considering me!
