I am a senior at McDonogh School in Owings Mills, MD, and am a member of the Eagle Swim Team, under coach Scott Ward. I’ve been attending McDonogh and been a member of EST since 7th grade, and I have experienced tremendous progression as a swimmer and as a student. In the classroom I have worked hard in honors and AP classes to achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.778, and have become involved in several activities such as the German club and my school’s Jazz Band. I am a member of the National Honor Society, recognized as an AP Scholar, and am also a Scholastic All-American swimmer.
In the pool, my best events have varied over the years, but I've been consistently strong in the IM, along with breaststroke and backstroke. I’ve been ranked 42nd nationally in the 200 IM as a 14 year old, and 74th for overall IMX score as a 15 year old.
Starting last year’s short course season, I focused on shorter distance races and developed as a sprinter, swimming a 21.79 in 50 free, 59.23 in 100 breast, and 52.48 in 100 back. This past summer I swam primarily 200's and below, and had considerable success in the 50 free as well as 50's of the other three strokes. At the NCSA Summer Swimming Championships in Indianapolis last August, I competed in the 50 free and got a Winter Juniors cut with a 24.34, and came close in 100 breast and 100 back. This short course season I’ll be returning my focus on 200 IM as well, anticipating being able to make an impact in the 100 IM as well in my next four years of collegiate swimming.
I've worked hard throughout my whole swimming career, pushing past injuries and setbacks, and am improving more and more going into my senior year. Thanks for your consideration!
