I am a sports fanatic. I love the thrill of competitions and the excitement of winning. However, swimming has been my sport of choice since the third grade. Swimming pushes me to be my best everyday. The satisfaction that I receive from reaching specific time goals my coach and I have set is so rewarding. To top it off with a first place finish is exhilarating. My most favorite part of swimming is the comradeship that I have with my teammates and swimmers from other teams. They have been huge inspirations for me to always do my best. Racing my friends is great, racing with them on a relay is awesome, winning the State Championship and breaking the state record is priceless! I would like to continue to swim at the collegiate level, achieve my NCAA swim times, and be a positive member of a swim team that supports each other in and out of the pool.
My academic success has been a direct outcome, in some ways, from the lessons I've learned while training for swimming: time management, focus, perseverance, and determination. I plan to study Communications with a focus in Journalism. One on going goal that I have is to be the best that I can be, an inspiration to others and to live by example.
