I am currently a senior at West Vigo High School. I live in a small rural community. I have one younger sister and live with my mom and dad. I am a Life member of the Scout’s and am working towards my Eagle Scout. I have been involved with 4H since the 3rd grade. I have been a member of the shooting sports club through 4H and a showed rabbits and swine.
I have participated with the Terre Haute Torpedoes swim club off and on for two years. I mainly trained with them until this summer, when I participated in several meets. I started swimming for my middle school team in the 6th grade and I have had for had the same coach through middle school and high school. He is also the instructor that taught me to swim when I was 6 years old. To say the least my swim team is my family. I have participated in community service with my swim team each year at our local community center. I also, have participated in track and cross county since my 6th grade year and have lettered my freshmen and sophomore, junior and senior years in cross county. I have also lettered in track my freshmen, sophomore and junior year and was the Sectional Champion in the 300 meter hurdles. I am also a member of the soccer team, where I play as a defender (sophomore, junior and senior year) and have lettered all three years. I go into school 3-5 days a week before school and work out on my own year round. When I’m not working out I enjoy playing video games and hanging out at home.
I am unclear of my future plans. I have taken classes in the medical field and have enjoyed them. I am also interested in athletic training, teaching or fire safety (fireman). I defiantly plan on earning a 4 year degree and hoping my first year of college will give me some direction and insight to which career path is right fro me.
I feel as though I am a “team player”. I want my team to succeed as much as I do individually. I feel I have good time management skills as I am able to keep up with my academics and sports and have success in both. I am a hard worker. I want to improve and look forward to having coaches and teammates to help me with that. Being involved with the 4H, Scouts and sports have given me many opportunities to work with many diverse types of people, whether it is teammates, coaches or instructors. I am a simple kid that loves to compete and be with my team.
