I began swimming for my neighborhood summer league and I swam for the Cedar Creek Stingrays for many years. I enjoyed the family oriented environment. I joined Swim Atlanta and trained with them for a couple of years. Unfortunately, I was constantly being compared to my brother and it took its toll on me. I was not sure, if I was swimming for me or because that was what was expected. Most tried to force me to be another breastroker like my brother. I took three years off from the sport. As I entered high school last year, I knew I wanted to be a part of the Parkview swim team because it had everything that I wanted. I wanted a close-knit family that would push me to be the best I could. I enjoy leading my teammates and cheering them on at meets. I will never forget when they cheered me on when I made my first state cut. I want to be that for other teammates. After swimming for the high school season, I decided to go back to year round. I joined Gwinnett Aquatics for the long course season. I needed to find a team that was smaller and not like a puppy mill of tons of kids training. Last summer I broke the 14-year-old 50 free record with only being back in the pool seriously training for 5 months. I am now training short course and am working very hard for a successful season. My brother said that I would know when I find the right fit for me. I am looking for a team that will recognize and push me beyond my limits.
