Jake Dellamuth '11 Recruiting Profile

Throughout my life soccer has been my passion. I fell in love with the game when I started playing thirteen years ago. Since I started playing, I have never missed a season, and sought out every opportunity to play. Along with the many great coaches who have helped me, I have been developing my technical skills and ability to work hard as a team player. My commitment to succeed is evident in the fact that I am always on the field a half hour before practice starts just to get a few extra touches on the ball. A further example of my passion and commitment to soccer is in coaching. Coaching has brought a new sense of the game to me due to the fact that one must be able to explain and teach even the most basic of skills, instead of just acting upon them. A strength of mine, as it relates to soccer, is I am critical of my ability to excel at soccer related skills. This attribute causes me to strive and perfect not just the difficult skills, but the small techniques as well. My dream has always been to play on a team at the highest level and make an impact. I am taking steps toward achieving this goal by playing year round soccer, pushing myself as a player and a leader on and off the field, and focusing hard on school. With my senior season upcoming I preparing by playing year round leading into the season, attending summer soccer camps, and playing on a competitive tournament team. Outside of soccer I also ran track for the first year and made it to the state meet in the 110m High Hurdles and the 4x800 relay. With college approaching I am excited about the idea of teaching. After seeing my mother teach and coaching youth teams in my free time, I am interested in the field of education. At the end of all of this I hope my efforts land me on the field at your college.
