Shane Crean '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Shane Crean. I play varsity starting forward for Robinson High School in Fairfax, VA and am the starting left midfield/forward for my club travel team, VISTA Dynamo. I've played club soccer for 9 yrs and high school for 4 yrs. If you are looking to strengthen your offensive left side I just may be the player you want and while my strength is left side dominant, I'm truly athletically ambidextrous; being equally comfortable with my left or right foot. I love to play left outside midfield and sprint past defenders to make that cross setting up a goal. If you need a player with flexibility to fill other roles I can do that too having played sweeper or forward when needed. Academically you can depend on me as my GPA is near 4.0 and I've demonstrated leadership ability on and off the field; earning my Eagle Scout rank and serving as a peer tutor. At the moment my degree interests are undecided but I hope to attend a university that meets both my academic and athletic goals and want to help contribute to a winning season at the collegiate level.

Prior to moving to Virginia I was a three sport athlete with soccer, basketball and baseball, was named my school's Athlete of the Year and was selected as the Maine Secretary of State Outstanding Youth Citizen of the Year.   Our team's success is what's most important to me and I believe I can help make a good team better, a better team great and keep a great team at the top. I'll work hard and we'll have fun too.
