Travis Owen '14 Recruiting Profile

I have played soccer since I was 4 years old and playing in college has always been a dream of mine.  I began competitive club soccer when I was 10 years old. I will be a 3-year varsity starter as a right defender for my high school team. I was selected as 1st team all-district in my junior year as I played a big role in my team advancing to the state regional quarterfinals. I am right foot dominant but I have worked hard to improve my skills with my left foot and I have the ability to defend and to pass accurately with both feet. My high school coach often comments how opposing coaches will move their best forward to the other side of the field to avoid my defensive play.  I am primarily interested in colleges in the south but I am open to any college if it is the right fit academically and athletically. I have not solidified my preferred field of study but I am leaning towards a business degree.
