Brian Cassady '16 Recruiting Profile

Hello, I am Brian Cassady, a senior at Friendswood High School in Texas.  This is my second year as Captain of the varsity team where I have been playing since my freshman year. I began playing club soccer when I was 5.  Currently I play in the Houston Football Association men's league at the Premier level with Elite F.C.  I also participated in ODP, making the South Texas pool in 2011 and 2012.  In 2012, I was selected to the South Texas team and competed in the Region III Tournament in Alabama.

I play center midfield, defensive or attacking, as well as center back but am familiar with all positions, and can play them as needed. I have very good vision of the field, and can send a thru ball or switch the field as needed. As a Sophomore, I led my high school team in assists (11) and was third in goals (4).  That year I was named First Team All-District.  Junior year I earned NSCAA All-Region, District Co-Defensive Player of the Year (as a Mid-Fielder), First Team All-District, and Team MVP.  I have a good work ethic and leadership skills.  I thrive to better myself and my teammates when I take the field and lead by example.  I adapt well to new teams and settings.

It is my goal to always play at the next level. My ultimate dream is to play professional soccer, but first I want to play in college.  I am interested in pursuing a degree in Criminology or Construction Management.  I am well rounded academically. While I do not take many AP classes, I have taken several dual credit classes.  I keep my grades steady and get my work done on time while balancing school, high school soccer, club soccer and a job.  I would prefer to attend college in the greater South Western region.
