Personal Statement

My name is Jake Schnell and I am currently a senior at Vandegrift High School in Austin, Texas. I play left back my high school varsity team and center back on the Red North Team for Lonestar soccer club in Austin. I am the Team Captain for my club team. I began playing soccer when I was 4 and have played club soccer with Lonestar since the 5th grade. I have played the following positions: striker, outside mid, center back and left back. My strength is as a defensive player because I love the challenge of taking the ball away from a forward player. I grew up watching all sports from football to hockey, but what stood out to me the most was soccer. The creativity of the players to do crazy tricks and scoring outrageous goals. No other sport seemed close to be able to do what a soccer player could out on the pitch. I watched the professional players play and I wanted to be one of them. As I grew older, I knew I wanted to take soccer to the next level by playing collegiate ball. I am open to attend any school in the United States with a quality education. I plan to major in Biology and go on to medical school, so education is as important to me as is soccer. My GPA is 5.07 on a 6.00 scale and I rank in the top 11% of my class. My goal is to graduate in the top 10%.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
