Drew Ramsey '20 Recruiting Profile

I love soccer. I love everything about it – practicing, playing, and watching high-level matches.  I started playing the game when I was four, but feel like soccer became a passion around the age of ten.  Since then I have worked, and continue to work, on developing my game to become a versatile player capable of quickly adapting to different formations, systems of play, or different positions.

I am a student of the game, consistently following several Premier League, La Liga, and Bundesliga teams.  Additionally I am a youth soccer referee, which has taught me much about the game. 

In addition to being a player, referee, and student of the game, I display leadership both on and off the field. I am a passionate and vocal leader who thrives under pressure.  If the game is on the line, I want the ball.  I’m following in the footsteps of my mother, who was a successful collegiate basketball player. 

As a student athlete, I understand that academics have to be my primary focus.  I have a 3.7 GPA and I work hard in class because I understand that my education comes before anything on the field.  I wish to practice in the medical field and pursue a career as a doctor.

I participate in both my  youth group and Tri-state youth choir at my church.  In school, I’m the captain of the academic team, member of the science Olympiad team, and I participated this summer in the 2016 STEM camp at the University of Louisville.

I am committed to becoming the best student athlete I can be both in the classroom and on the field.  Success isn’t achieved by oneself, but with hard work and the team one surrounds themselves with.  This is why the college choice is of utmost importance.  A team is one to be valued, trusted, and respected.  My success in life will be based on my hard work and the team I surround myself with to include my faith, family, closest friends, college professors, coaches, and teammates.  I look forward to the journey ahead…buckle up and enjoy the ride.
