My name is Cameron Williams and I am a senior at Brentwood High School in Brentwood, Tennessee, graduating in May 2017. I am a starting forward for Tennessee Soccer Club 99 Showcase Team and the Varsity Soccer Program at my school. I am passionate about the game of soccer and want to continue my hunger for knowledge at a higher educational institute. I have a 2.9 GPA and have taken mostly Honor and AP classes all through high school with plans on majoring in History and pursuing a career path in Political Science or Law. I scored a 24 on the ACT at the end of my sophomore year and plan on taking it again.
I am an athlete at heart and a true lover of sports. I’ve played at a highly competitive level in the following sports; football, basketball, and baseball, with baseball being my first true love. During my freshman year in high school, my family moved to Brentwood and I was disappointed to have missed the spring tryouts for the baseball team. But like my father always says, “When one door closes, another door opens”. So after several years of not playing soccer I decided to try out for the varsity soccer team and I made it. The emotional rush I felt from soccer was a feeling that I always want to experience and all I wanted to do was play soccer. This defining moment in my young life is when I decided to play competitive soccer and concentrate on the sport that has become my passion. The summer following my freshman year, I tried out for Tennessee Soccer Club (TSC) and have been named to their top travel team for three consecutive years.
My senior athletic year will divide by my club and high school teams. My TSC 99 Showcase team will participate in tournaments all over the southeastern region during the fall of 2016. We are scheduled to play our final tournament in the Disney Tournament at the ESPN Sports Complex December 27th-30th in Orlando, FL. My Bruin high school soccer season runs in the spring of 2017. We have a lot of returning players and winning the State is our “GOOOOAL”. My mentor and former coach for two seasons, Earle Davidson, a former Division 1 (Vanderbilt University and Belmont University) head coach for 17 years, has encouraged me to pursue my love of soccer on the collegiate level. Working with him has made me a better player, a better teammate, and a better student of the game.
