Connor Whitacre '16 Recruiting Profile

I am an honors student with a 4.0 grade point average, and I have been a multi-sport, varsity athlete and starter since my freshman year. I have been a captain for both my high school soccer and basketball teams since my junior year. My high school soccer team was PIAA AAA State Runner-Up in 2013, and I played a pivotal role in our success as a center midfielder, including an overtime, game winning goal in the state semifinals.  Our team won the section and league titles in 2015 and I received the honor of being named player of the year and being nominated for All-state and All-American honors. 

I feel that I would be a great addition to a collegiate team because of my leadership skills, both on and off the field, my competitive nature, and my drive to win. I have very high expectations for myself and will not quit until I reach my goals. As a captain for my sports teams, I value individual and team responsibility as well as team camaraderie. I encourage teammates and actively communicate on and off the field. I am a versatile soccer player and have successfully played offensive and defensive roles throughout my soccer career. I bring energy and vision to help lead my teams through difficulties and success and I have the respect of my teammates, coaches and teachers.
