Russell Jankas '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Russell Jankas, I am currently a Senior at Carl Albert HS (5A) in Midwest City Oklahoma.  I have started varsity the past 3 years and expect to start this year as well.  I have played soccer since I was 4 years-old and started playing competitive at 10 years-old.  The last 4 years of my club career have been with NYSA Celtic 96 Green.  During that time we have won 2 state Championships and have gone onto Regionals, I'm very much looking forward to my Senior and final year of Club with this team.  I have played many positions throughout my life (GK, FWD, MF, RMF, LMF) which gives me an advantage when reading players and the field.  I am able to keep my head in the game and stay focused on the task at hand.  I feel I am very coachable because I'm always looking for feedback on ways to improve.  I'm never satisfied with where I'm at and believe practice does make perfect.

The last two years, on the off season of HS soccer I ran Cross Country, at first I did it as a way to stay fit, then I set a goal to make State which I achieved.

I am very goal orientated; my short term goal is to play college soccer and graduate with a bachelors in Kinesiology or Sports Medicine. My long term goal is to be a Physical Therapist.
