My name is Matthew Wehrly and I am a senior at Southern Lee High School. I am currently ranked tenth in my class. As a top student, I always try to be a role model and portray characteristics like being respectful, having responsibility, and having integrity. As I grow older, I continue to incorporate those characteristics in my daily life. My school work is a priority as I continue to make grades that not only meets my personal satisfaction, but also will allow me to choose a college of my choice. It is my desire to attend a four year college or university where I can study a field of engineering. I am also hardworking and a focused student. This hard work and focus also plays big in me being a successful soccer player. From this, I have reached and am still striving for a higher skill level. Without these two important elements, I wouldn't be where I am today. As I continue to develop as a mature player, I strive to demonstrate that I have what it takes to reach the college level of play. I have great confidence in my technique and skill that can reach that level. My quickness and speed allows me to get past others easily, and my ball handling skills allows me to have open shots and passes. My knowledge and vision of the game is good and I use it for positioning myself to find teammates which I feel is one of my better attributes. I enjoy being apart of a team and I believe that i could be a good candidate for any team. I am also loyal to anything that I am apart of and enjoy building relationships with my peers and leaders. I try very hard to maintain a very high moral standard on and off the field with good sportsmanship, being respectful, having responsibility, and having integrity.
