Joseph Martinez '17 Recruiting Profile

Dear Coach, My name is Joseph Martinez and I am a Senior at Cleveland High School,  Started my sophomore-senior year on varsity. Won 2 conference championships and earned All-Conference all 3 years. I am looking for any collegiate opportunities and would like to play at the highest level possible. I have played soccer since I was 4 and started playing competitive soccer when I was 9. I am willing to work hard off and on the field to be successful. I have played for NC ODP and went to the University of Alabama for Region 3 camp. I play club ball at Johnston United Soccer Association(JUSA) division 1. I push myself harder and harder everyday to get better as an individual and as a soccer player.  I would like to be the first one in my family to attend a 4-year university. I am a team player and will do whatever the team needs, if I have to play defense then I will play defense.  Different from other recruits is that I don't play just for myself, I play for every single person on the lineup and on the bench.  It's not about being MVP, or being the best, or scoring the most goals, It's about helping everyone become better and become successful as a team.  I might not be the smartest kid in class or the best athlete on the field but I am certainly the most determined student athlete in class and on the field. Being a student-athlete is about helping others including yourself to better themselves in the classroom and on the field. I believe that I have what it takes to better your program in athletics and also academics. I am willing to do anything and everything for you to give me a chance to be on your team and become a college Student-Athlete. I hope that I am a good fit for your program and you take a look at me.
