My name is Brendan James McNamee, I attend Kittatinny Regional High School in Newton, New Jersey. Kittatinny is a blue ribbon school that offers me many opportunities as both a student and an athlete. My most important accomplishment was winning Pennsylvania's State Cup with my club team, Lehigh Valley United '96, for the fourth year in a row. I remember when I was younger, I thought that winning state cup once would be an incredible accomplishment, now it has been four years in a row. I can offer many aspects to a team such as my drive to be an athlete at the college level, my leadership on and off of the field and my commitment to the game itself. I have always wanted to be able to play soccer at the highest level I can possibly accomplish. College soccer is one of the highest levels of competitive soccer in the United States. It would be an honor to be able to play soccer in college and I will work my hardest to accomplish this. I believe that leadership should not only occur on the pitch during practices and games but also off of it and helping fellow teammates. My commitment to soccer is very strong. I live in Newton, New Jersey but I play on my club team in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This is about an hour and a half drive and we practice three to four times a week. I usually leave for practice right after school and get dressed and do all of my homework in the car. Balancing soccer and my education is very hard because I am in all honors courses which sometimes means two and three hours of homework each night. I drive so far to play soccer because I love it and I want to challenge myself and play at the highest level. This means missing out on parties and hanging out with friends but that is okay because I am doing the one thing I love most. I would like to go to school close to home but also a little bit farther south. I want to be able to train in warmer weather than at home so that I can train for a longer period of time outside. I want to stay close to home so that my parents can come and watch me play. They have been my main support and I want to be able to share with them the opportunity I have. They are the ones that bring me to every practice, pay for the gas, pay for my team and let me have every opportunity I can get. I am looking for a small to medium sized school so that I do not feel to crowded. I want a school with a high academic level that will push me to learn more and become a better person. I do not mind what division level college I attend and I am open to Christian schools. I think that I want to major in something that has to do with the environment. Such as Environmental Studies or Environmental Sciences. My athletic goal is to be able to play at the highest level of soccer possible. I want to have great players with me that push me to become better and strive for the best.
