Gerald Lamina '13 Recruiting Profile

I am 6 feet tall and 160 pounds. I run a 4:37 mile and a 2:06 half mile. I have grown up using my left foot as my dominant foot but I am right handed so both feet are equally as strong. Some of my most important accomplishments were winning the Jefferson Cup in Virginia, getting 2nd in the New Jersey State Cup, beating Crystal Palace in the F.C. Delco tournament, and leading our team to numerous comebacks. The first time I touched a soccer ball was when I was 6 years old and i have been playing all year round ever since. I love a good challenge and always rise to the occasion when we play one of the top 5 teams in any state. Whenever our team is the underdog for the match, I get more excited and geared up to play. I can relate to virtually everyone and I really bring a team together as a family. I also relieve stress in game type situations and get the passing going when kids start to get nervous. I have composure throughout the games but it gets that much better at the end because I do not crack under pressure. I have confidence in myself as well as our team to get through any situation, whatever it may be. I am looking to go to a coastal school, preferably in the East but I am willing to consider the West also, if the fit is right. I love the cold but I thrive in the heat as well, and the beach helps me to focus so I would like to be on the coast. I am looking for a large school with 8,000-10,000 students but i would also consider a smaller school with 5,000 students. I am willing to play either DI or DIII. Academically I will go anywhere except an Ivy league because that is not the environment I'd like to be in. In terms of majors, I was considering a school with a good Pre-Law Program, Biomedical Engineering, or a Physical Therapy program but I am still undecided. If I were to play DII,I I would like to play a significant role on the team and would like to lead that team in the years to come. If I were to play DI I would stop at nothing to get on the field during a match. As I said before, I rise to the occasion and would work that much harder outside of practice in order to play. I am open to any school but I really want to continue playing the sport I love.
