Shane Scott '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Shane Christopher Scott and I am a Senior in high school. I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old. I have a tremendous love for the sport. I have been playing soccer for 13 years now, and not once did I not have the desire to play. I play throughout the year even if its just getting my touches on the ball, or juggling just to keep agile and familiar with the ball. Throughout my athletic past I have had my moments just as much as other athletes, hat tricks, minimal losses in a season, and just having a great time competing in the sport(s) I love. Soccer means just about everything to me considering I devoted my whole childhood as well as young adult life to getting better and achieving greater goals. One of those goals is to play college ball. Playing for a college team would be a major stride towards achieving what I want to do in my life. Through High School I always wanted to play in college and strived to play my best to prepare myself in any way to compete at the collegiate level. In High School I was not recognized, but I played with heart and the determination to do my best. Rather than always looking to score, I would give up the ball to teamates in order to achieve our teams goals rather than my own. During my senior year my team did not have the most successful season, but individually I improved and so did my team. We were always positive keeping each other playing hard whenever we needed to. I am not concerned with playing for a specific school or in a specific division. I am willing to play for any school that would give me the opportunity to play for them on the collegiate level, including Christian schools because I have strong religious faith as well. If I was given this opportunity I would give everything to better the team in anyway possible. I also am open to play in any school division that would accept me, I am coachable, and can easily mold to a coaches plans, or accept any constructive critcism. Due to my parent's divorce and personal issues, there has always been a lack of funding for my future education and scholarships are vital to me being able to attend college. I have the ability to play well and will give 110% for any team that I am a part of.
