When I was little I used to watch my older brother play soccer and I wanted to play too. My first season was U5 and it was as fun as I imagined, we started out small sided 3v3 and grew from there. My dad who was my team’s coach was a big influence over my early years developing as defensive player. He said with my speed and touch we could keep the opponents from scoring, “…we can’t lose if they don’t score!” After 10 years of soccer this has carried through to high school. I played Center Back, starting freshmen for my high school JV team that completed the season 15-0-0 with 76 goals for, and 7 goals against, with 10 shutouts. Playing club soccer has exposed me to a new coaching style just about every year over the last 5 years. I have also enjoyed the increasing competition bringing more talented players together with each season for my team. Through this constant change, I have learned to listen to the guidance of these coaches and integrate with the composite personality of the team. We have been competitive over the years, winning first place in 15 tournaments. There is even one tournament I have played in for 7 years with different teammates each year and still won first place 5 times.
As a student I am very interested in math and hope to find a program that allows me to develop that interest. Finding the right team for me to compete for is also very important to me. I am looking forward to playing at the next level and believe I will make a great asset.
