Personal Statement

I was born in Gloucester, England and grew up in Carlisle, England. I've had a soccer influence since about 3 years old and started playing competitively at around 7 years of age. During my time playing in England I played on local teams, and played for Carlisle City Schoolboys, a selection of the cities best schoolboy soccer players, the town had around 100,000 people living there and 8 high schools. I moved to Montana in November of 2008 but narrowly missed out on the '08 high school season. The next year, as a sophomore I made varsity, started every game, received the Rookie of the Year award, and also made the All-Conference First Team. After that season I was invited to ODP tryouts but due to lack of knowledge about the program and time restrictions I wasn't able to make the tryouts. I went into my junior year on the varsity squad knowing I would miss 4 games because my parents and I had to go back to England for 2 weeks to re-new our VISA (Meaning we can legally stay here for longer). Although I knew this I stayed fit while i was in England and came back to finish out the season with Whitefish, we went on to get to playoffs but got knocked out in the first-round unfortunately. I have just started my senior year in high-school and my last year playing varsity for Whitefish. My team mates voted me in as captain, and right now I'm doing the best job I can to be the best leader this team's ever seen, all I want out this is to make my team mates, my coach, and my parents proud. Plus we placed first in conference with a record of 13-2-0 and went on to win the 2011-2012 State Championship. Just after that I was awarded an All-State player award and was invited to play in my area's senior showcase; a game where the best 22 players in the area are called up to play and are then split into 2 teams and play in the local football stadium under the lights. I really want to play college soccer because I want to take what I have to the next level of playing, I really don't have too many preferences on where I want to play, I'm open to all aspects of life and I would be happy just to be playing. I'm a 5'10", 145lb Central Midfielder, although I can play most positions on the field and have extensive knowledge on how to play the game purely through playing and watching the game for so long. I feel as if I can bring a lot to a team, I'm a good leader, and I'm easy to get along with. Mainly in a game I am the play maker I can read passes and runs well and defensively I can tackle well and I know the logistics of defending. So far I'm not too sure on what I want to major in, but this will change over the next few months. My dream is to play professionally and it always has been, whether that is achievable or not, I don't know, but I do want to play at the highest level possible even if it isn't professional. I would be more than happy to play at any collegiate level whether it be D1 all the way to NAIA, just as long as I can play the game I will always love.
