Personal Statement

A dream I have had since I have been a kid was to become a college athlete. A more realistic dream is to become a college student athlete for the sport of soccer. Soccer has always been there for me, always a part of my life. I have always played soccer, also have worked camps and took on the role of an instructor, to share my knowledge of the game with aspiring, dream filled, players. I have also volunteered at soccer camps teaching special needs kids the basics of soccer. Soccer is my passion in life, without it I do not know where I would be today. Soccer has made me the man I am, and has taught me many lessons, on and off the pitch. I believe in a strong work ethic, that you never are “good enough.” No matter the situation, talent, or player, there is always room for improvement. The only way to grow as a player, but evenly, a person, is to have the drive and want to always try your hardest and strive for better play. Soccer has taught me many things I use in my day to day life, but the most important aspect is that of leadership. Since a young age, I have had a positive and informative influence on my peers that I only look to use to better the team. I am a mentally strong and collective player, who is technically and tactically knowledgeable and executional. I will never give up in a match, or training session. I give my all at everything I do, which at some times can let you down, but only to burn the desire to become better. My vision on the soccer field is one of my strongest characteristics. I feel that I see the field differently than most average players. I have trained in the mentality of thinking “two plays ahead” and find that it is very beneficial to my play and beating the opponent. I also am strong in informative communication on and off the pitch. From marking up defensively, to after practice Q and  A’s I am never afraid to comment constructively. My hardworking habits from the soccer field, carry over into my school work. I carry a 3.8 cumulative grade point average while I am a member of the National Honors Society, and hold a position in my schools Student Leadership Council. I am different from other recruits because I whole heartedly “buy in” to coaching strategies, am technically and tactically strong, because I am a positive leader, and because I never give up.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
