There are many athletes out there looking for a good college with their desired sport available. I too am one of these athletes, but that doesn't mean I'm like all of them, and this is why I am separate from the rest and unique.
My name is Nicholas Simondet and I go to Monticello Senior High School, class of 2013. I am 5' 11" and weigh about 170 pounds. I am the fastest on my team with a 40 yard dash of 4.61 seconds. I have played traveling soccer for 10 years and counting, and for a majority of those years I played up at least one level. In the past 3 years I have gone to state with my team twice and placed 2nd in state both times. I am one of the top scorers on my team, and I focus on a low hard shot finding the corners for a guaranteed goal. I have played varsity soccer at my high school for all 3 years so far and we have been section champions for 2 of those years. I get a little frustrated when coach takes me out because he thinks I'm tired because on the bench I am just a voice, but on the field I am a leader and an example, and am more capable of guiding my team to victory. I am a great leader; I am captain on both traveling and high school league teams. It is my dream to play college soccer. I am always the loudest person on the field trying to help out my team in every way possible. I practice all year round by playing traveling, indoor, and high school soccer, along with creating pickup games in the town's roller rink. I am willing to go anywhere for a great soccer experience, but would love to go south of Minnesota, since I live here, I would love to get out of this cold and on to where the sun shines and the grass is green. But again, I am willing to suck it up for a great soccer experience. I am open to all different types of schools, but would prefer medium to large sized campuses. My family does not have financial "need." My major is undecided but I am very interested in engineering, specifically chemical engineering and astrophysics. My realistic athletic goals are to play at any level, but a very realistic and achievable goal is to play at the D2 soccer division level. To play as a freshman is a dream of mine, but am willing to wait for the prime moment to show the opponent what I am capable of offering my team, which their team lacks.
