Greg Manning '12 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Greg Manning and I'm dedicated to soccer and I have been pretty much playing the sport my whole life. I'm hoping that NCSA can help me get to the next level of soccer and most importantly, help me get a better education. I'm average when it comes to size, but I'm working on becoming bigger and stronger for soccer. I can play almost any position on the soccer field but I'm strongest at forward and anywhere in the defensive line. I am a very quick player on and off the ball and know a lot about the game of soccer. I have great control on the ball and i've got stamina too. I can handle playing full games no matter what type of competitive team we play. Being one of the center backs my Junior year i consider myself being one of the leaders of the team. I'm loud, directive, and good at cheering up the team. My senior year my high school team made it to the State Semi-final game and lost to the state champs 2-1. But the reason why I think we got so far in the tournament was due to the fantastic defence my team mates and I did. I come from a small town in Michigan called Elk Rapids. Although small, our soccer team has an outstanding program and history. That's what I'm looking for in a college; a great soccer program, an even better history, and a good environment to play soccer. I would like to stay in Michigan though, but if a better opportunity comes up out of state I might conisider that also. A college that has a quiet, peaceful looking campus and allows me to go to other extra curricular things is another factor I'll be looking for. Going to college is a huge step for me.
