Obed Boateng '16 Recruiting Profile

I was introduced to football at a very young age, and I've been playing ever since. It all started in my homeland, Ghana. My friends and I would always play football as soon a school ended, with little regards to the amount of work awaiting us. We were only kids at the time but we developed a deeper connection with each other through the sport. We began to notice our undeniable improvements as the years passed by, but my future lied somewhere else. A few years later I moved abroad, where I was introduced to a whole new world of football.

The opportunity I had and still have in the U.S played an even bigger role in my development. My love for the sport increased even more as I immersed myself in the clubs. With this I began to dream bigger. Although the road may be tough, I want to play professionally and go on to become one of the best players in the world. I'm always reminded of my roots and that pushes me to work harder than my peers because not everyone in the world has the opportunity that I have right now.
