Nicholas Jost-Creegan '11 Recruiting Profile

In my opinion, the constitution of an excellent college athlete is not only exceptional athletic ability, but also the combination of intellect and dedication. Firstly, I am convinced I have what it takes to adjust myself to fit any program, regardless of physical rigidity. I am consistently determined to both meet my own goals and fulfill my team's expectations, traits that have enabled me to excel at both the high school and club levels. While my ball handling skills are well practiced and technically focused, I believe my speed to be my greatest asset. As I have been told by coaches, there are not many defenders or opposing midfielders I have played in my years throughout high school that have a simple opportunity to outrun me along a touchline. While athletic ability is exponentially vital to any athletic team, I believe it is my personal, mental traits that truly set me apart. I consistently work as hard as I can, from practice, to game, to early morning jog, taking advantage of a determination that I hope my teammates can feed off of as well. I view my leadership skills as strong, and most definitely beneficial to any team I play on. After watching my sister proceed through the college admission process, I have decided that I would prefer to attend college south of my current home, in Boston. That said, I have no particular defining desire to move south, and am open to almost any geographic location in the continental United States. While I am looking for a school that is on the larger side, with a more urban campus, I am definitely open to any opportunity at a medium sized school. Up until this date, I have attended small, private schools; I am hardly bias towards the size of the college which I will attend. In closing, my true desire is only to continue the passion that I have for soccer. I am willing to put in serious practice time and effort in my freshman year, regardless of minutes played, for the oppurtunity to continue developing my skills and expanding my knowledge of the game. I would like to play at the highest level possible, for I have learned that it is only in competition that an athlete can develop. I am fully confident that I have not only the physical ability and mental determination to positively impact any team (both in record and chemistry), but also the strong intellect, willing leadership, and forward-looking drive that will be beneficial to most college communities.
