My name is Matthew Saunders, and I am from Fairfield, Maine. I am 5'10" and weigh 170 pounds. I have played three years of varsity soccer for Lawrence High School and started every game. I earned All Conference First Team all three years and All State First Team in my junior year. I played two years of club soccer for Maine Terriers United and three years of club soccer for Seacoast United Maine in which I captained the team in my third year. While playing for Seacoast United, we have competed in the Sub-Regional League, the New England Premier League, won the New England Classics Tournament, competed in the Adidas Patomac Memorial Tournament, won the Maine State Cup three times, and competed in the Region I Tournament three times. I have a 4.0 GPA and work equally as hard in school as I do on the soccer field. I know that hard work and dedication is the key to success.
I am looking for an institution that has the right balance between academics and athletics. Preferably, I would like to stay in New England, but this is not absolutely necessary. I have not decided on a specific major but I am considering engineering, medicine, or business. I want to play at the highest competition level possible, but I will look into colleges in all divisions.
