Personal Statement
Soccer is my passion! I have been playing soccer since the age of three with the same soccer club. I have played for my high school on both the Junior and Senior teams. I have also represented The Bahamas in the CONCACAF Under-15 Championship in 2013 and again I represented my country in 2014 in the Under-17 World Cup Qualifier.
For many years my goal and dream is to play soccer at the college level in the United States and at the same time successfully earn my degree. I know I have a lot to contribute to a college team due to my extensive exposure and knowledge of the game (besides playing I often assisted in officiating youth games). Over the years, even though I mainly play as a winger, my coaches have been able switch my position during the course of a game which I have always been willing to do to assist my team. (For example, I played as a Right Back for my country when playing in the Under-17 World Cup Qualifiers in The Bahamas). I also consider myself to be a team player as I would try to link up play with teammates when possible. Using these skills, I want to be able to assist my future college in success.
As mentioned earlier I have been involved in the National Soccer Program which required rigorous training and I was able to keep up with my studying and sit and pass nine (9) National Exams a year earlier than the most students in The Bahamas. I am capable of balancing my studies as you can see by my GPA, continue training and play soccer.
My love for the game has allowed me to contribute in many ways. Besides playing a significant role in club soccer, school games and assisting with officiating matches I even volunteer to set up the fields for both boys and girls games and other soccer related event. I recently participated in the 2018 World Cup qualifier held in The Bahamas by gathering statistics.
Recently, I have moved away from my home country to England in order to pursue a higher level, not only in education but in soccer as well. I exceeded all expectations by achieving Distinction grades for all units I have complete so far in the first semester. I have also been introduced to a new playing position (Center Back) which provided a whole new experience for me. I have been able to expand my knowledge of the game on different positions and my versatility as a player. I hope to improve upon not only playing as a Midfielder or Forward but as a player in general to develop my skills even further.
I believe that I have outstanding qualities of a terrific student-athlete and I would be one of the most reliable and hardworking players on any college soccer team.
