Personal Statement
Hello, mi name is Jose Miguel Tirado and I live in Lima Peru. I am a Junior who have 17 years old, weigh 170 pounds, and my height is 5'9. I go to the American School of Lima, called Franklin Delano Roosevelt and am currently in the IB program. I have played soccer since I was 6 years old, and I would definitely enjoy continuing with this passion as a freshmen in college. I would like to go to a small or medium sized college in the East Coast, mainly near Boston.
In Lima, I play for a club called Club Regatas Lima, and represent my school's varsity team both in international and national tournaments. My club is part of a tournament which lasts 10 months (starts in March and ends in December) and I play against the young squads of the professional and 1st division teams here in Peru. I have played this tournament 4 times and I have ended 5th, 6th, 7th, and this year 4th place. I play against 17 other teams and play 40 games throughout the year. I train from 6pm to 8pm from Monday to Thursday and play every Saturday in the morning. I have been the captain of my team for three years. I play as a center back or as a center mid. My most outstanding characteristics are my long pass which is really precise, my ability to kick penalties, my header, my physical condition, and my aggressive way of playing. This year I scored 14 goals, was the second top scorer of my team, and I played as a center back for most of the season. In my school, I play in a position in which I have a much more attacking role. I play as a attacking mid fielder and am the captain and top scorer of my team. I have played three SAAC tournaments, in which I won two and ended second place on the other one.
