Personal Statement
My name is Jörg Jauk, I am 19 years old, 6’ 1“and weigh 165lbs. I am an Austrian who passionately loves playing soccer since the age of 7, when I started attending elementary school. I joined SK Sturm Graz, the major club of my hometown Graz,and have been continuously playing there. SK Sturm Graz (see Wikipedia) is one of the most successful teams in Austria and popular for reaching the last sixteen in the UEFA Champions League in 2000, which was unique for an Austrian club. After that the club has been participant of the UEFA Europa League several times. I completed all age stages of the soccer academy, where I was playing in a national youth championship, as a captain and was part of the team which set a point record in the club´s history in this youth league. Now I am currently part of the 2nd team as an amateur player, RB/LB & CB positions.
I have attended the HIB Liebenau Graz, 2005-13, which is the Austrians best high school in the southern province, where I obtained my A’ Level and school leaving certificate. As much as I love playing soccer I was also fond of attending an excellent high school and earn the best academic education. Due to being fully aware of the importance of achieving brilliant University education I am highly ambitious in the classroom and I always put great effort into getting good grades. For this purpose talking with my parents and also friends who are currently studying in US, I believe that US provide this fantastic opportunity of combining both academic and sports success. I know that this system fits best for me.
I am profoundly convinced that the US model of education and sports offers the best opportunities to make my dreams come true.
