Personal Statement
My name is Sean Dunbar and I currently live in Kaiserslautern, Germany. I currently live in Germany where I began playing soccer and moved back and forth between the United States and Germany. I have learned both styles of play in the process. Having attended three different high schools because of my father’s Army service, I have had to adapt multiple times to different coaches, teammates, and techniques. Academically, I have maintained a 3.3 GPA and have had to prove myself every time I moved to earn my varsity starting position each year. I am the Captain of my varsity team and play as the center attacking midfielder. I also had to earn my position on my German team where I alternate as a starting winger or defender for them. I have also learned a new language in order to communicate with my German team and coaches. My German team is currently undefeated having scored 37 goals versus 2 goals scored against us; PK only. I am an extremely adaptable soccer player, having played on multiple clubs and varsity teams in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Germany with different styles of play. In 2014 I was named All-Tournament, All-Region and All-Europe in my junior year of High School. I'm eager to learn a new style of play and compete at a higher level at a university. I always play to the best of my ability; giving everything I have each and every game.
