Personal Statement

*NOTE: My school is actually in Costa Rica, not in Florida. Lincoln School Costa Rica, which is considered the best American school in Central America, did not appear on the database.

After leading my high school varsity team to the final in the Central American International Tournament with zero goals scored against me, I was absolutely certain of my strong desire to play college soccer next year. I am finishing my Junior year at Lincoln School, in Costa Rica.

For over eight years, I have been a dedicated goalkeeper to various school and club teams in the United States and in Costa Rica. I am a well-rounded athlete who also plays basketball and is a Black Belt in Karate.

Soccer is a sport that was introduced to me before I could walk, and being part of every aspect has been an immense passion I have held ever since. Competing at the college level is a dream I have been striving to achieve before the beginning of high school.

While acknowledging the rigors of competing in a sport at the highest college level, after the season for school and club teams had ended, I continued in training with a professional goalkeeper coach from Costa Rica’s first division. This training is still being done various times a week to also prepare for a College ID summer camp, in order to gain maximum exposure to all college coaches.

While I have maintained a 4.0+ all through high school, and will have completed 300+ hours of community service by the end of senior year, it is evident that grades and school related activities are of paramount importance to me in addition to sports.

While showing tremendous commitment, leadership, and athletic abilities, everyday I strive to be the best goalkeeper I can be. I would bring all of these aptitudes and skills to wherever I play, as well as a high-quality work ethic and strong moral character in order to show willingness to improve and be the best student-athlete I can be.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
