Tomas Espinal '15 Recruiting Profile

I have learned a lot from playing soccer and it is just something that makes me happy. I hope to play this game at a high-level for a long time. I have always dreamt of playing in a packed stadium in front of thousands of people and that is what drives me. I train almost everyday and if we have a day off, I'll call my goalkeeper coach to see if I can get an extra session in. Since my dream has always been to play professionally, I've always tried to learn about the game outside of our country as well. Every summer I go to Colombia where I've been training with the same goalkeeper coach since I was 9. I have been able to train with a professional first division team and very competitive teams for my age group. I have also been to Brazil and trained at top clubs. I spent a week in the Atletico Paranaense residency program. It has shown me what it takes to play at the next level internationally. 

I hope to play soccer at the collegiate level for a program that is strong in academics and athletics. I am a player who is willing to work hard. I am not worried about having a coach promise me playing time early in my career. I believe that playing time is something I must earn with my hard work and my performances. I am a player who looks to step up as a vocal leader on the field. My hope is not only to have success as an athlete but as a student. In hopes to one day give back to my community and make my parents proud.
