Thomas Rankin '16 Recruiting Profile

When I was five years old,  I was diagnosed with ADHD, and I honestly  never thought  college would ever be in my future plans but after realizing that my brain was capable of overcoming ADHD, 
To be honest, I haven’t decided on exactly what I want to major on in college, but I do know that whatever I focus on I CAN make happen.  After college, I would like to further my experiences in life by continuing on and joining the United States Navy, which has always been my dream, and with a degree. My siblings and I all grew up being taught that no one owes you anything and if you want to make it in the world you have to earn your rewards, no excuses.
I believe I have learned a lot from my father.
In regards to soccer, I am left footed and have been told by many coaches that I have amazing talent with placing the ball in the exactly the right spots at the precisely the right time. I practice my skills continually: conditioning, soccer practice, both on season and off.  I always enjoy improving my skill set and learning new things that I can transfer to the game.
In regards to academics I do struggle, but I never give up. I guarantee to try my hardest with what I can do on my own, and I am not afraid to ask for help when I need it. I believe that there is always room for improvement and my goal is to continually improve upon myself.
