My name is Jared Heller and reside in Pembroke Pines, Florida, a suburb of Fort Lauderdale. I am 18 years old and a senior at University School at Nova Southeastern University. I live with my parents and one younger brother who attends Elementary School. I have an older brother who is a senior at the University of Central Florida. Both of my parents work for the Miami-Dade Police Department. My father is a Police Assistant Director and my mother is a Police Captain.
My parents have been very positive role models, helping mold my core values of being honest, respectful, and considerate of others. This has helped me establish outstanding relationships with friends, teachers, and coaches. In anticipation of attending college, I have been studying hard. I have taken honors courses in Biology, World History, and English.
In regard to soccer, I started playing soccer when I was three years old. Since I was nine years old, I have been fortunate to compete at a high level, while being a member of West Pines Strikers, F. C. and Miramar United Elite. This has afforded me the opportunity to attend some very prestigious tournaments, i.e. Disney Showcase, US Southern Regional Championships, Dallas Cup, and Atlanta Cup (see non-high school competitions). I was also able to make my High School varsity team as a freshman and started every year since.
Since Middle School, I have dreamed of an opportunity to play soccer at the college level, where I can make an immediate impact. I am presently 5' 10" and approximately 160 lbs., left footed and start as a left defender or left mid-fielder or even a central defender. However, I am versatile in that this year in high school, I have been playing left forward and leading the team in goals. I have been truly dedicated to training hard, eating healthy, and maintaining a positive attitude. The size or location of the college will not be an issue for me.
