My name is Jake Deuel. I am a 6'3", 175 pound goalie. I will graduate from Ransom Everglades High School in Miami, Florida in May of 2014. Academically, I am taking a rigorous course load including AP Calculus and AP Chemistry during my current Junior year and plan to continue on this path my Senior year by taking AP Calculus 2, AP Phyisics B, and AP Statistics. My best score so far on the ACT is a 32 with a 35 in math. Ransom is an academically challenging school, and I am looking for an opportunity to attend a college with the same type of academic rigor while also having the opportunity to play competitive soccer at the collegiate level.
Soccer has always been my favorite sport, which is why I have always worked and trained very hard to develop my goalkeeping skills. This season was my first on the varsity high school team. My efforts paid off when I was awarded the "Most Improved Player" award and Miami-Dade All County 2nd team. The highlights of my team's recent season included winning District 16 in an exciting penalty kick shoot-out, finishing the season ranked 2nd in Miami-Dade county and 10th in Florida regardless of school size, and recording the best record (22-3-3) in Miami-Dade county. Personally, I recorded 17 shutouts and saved 5 out of 9 penalty kicks while we played against the best competition Florida has to offer.
